Handmade leather shoes are an iconic part of the way South Africans dress. Traditionally, vellies are not formal wear but rather the comfortable shoes farmers wear to work. During the last few decades, a pair of comfortable lace-up leather boots has become a fashion statement for both men and women and you can wear your vellies anywhere, with any outfit.

With vellies being so popular, it stands to reason that your dolls and bears would also like a pair. Our handmade genuine leather lace-up shoes are approximately 6cm long. They will fit a doll or teddy with narrow feet but you don’t only need to use them to dress up your toys; a pair of little leather shoes looks beautiful hanging around the neck of a teddy bear, or display them next to your doll, as though they’ve just kicked off their shoes to play.

Because this is a handmade item using natural materials, expect small imperfections and variations in colour.
